12/10/2007 - LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ – Freshman Kerry O’Connor (Bethpage, NY) has been named the Skyline Conference Women’s Bask etball Rookie of the Week it was announced on Monday afternoon. This marks the first time in her young career that O’Connor has been honored by the league with a weekly award.

The freshman guard helped the Mount to a 3-0 week in Skyline Conference play by averaging 9.0 points and 5.0 rebounds per contest. She scored a career-high 15 points on December 6 at Polytechnic, knocking down a career best five three-pointers. The fifth trey of the night came with :01 remaining in regulation and sent the Dolphins to a dramatic 60-59 win against the Fighting Blue Jays. At Old Westbury just two days earlier, O’Connor pulled down a career-high seven rebounds in a 71-54 win for the Dolphins.

Following an 11 point win at Russell Sage on December 8, the Mount has won three straight and stands at 5-2 overall on the season and 3-1 in Skyline Conference play. The Dolphins will be back in action on December 29 when they host Yeshiva. Tip-Off is scheduled for 8:00 p.m. at Hayes Gymnasium.
