1. St. John the Baptist: SJB lost to nationally-ranked Ursuline Academy (Delaware), but won the next two games to place fifth at the Delaware Diamond State Classic. Plays against Holy Trinity at St. John's Jan. 4th - game is scheduled for 5:45pm. LOST TO HOLY TRINITY 37 -32.
2. Hicksville: Looking real strong with wins over Suffolk Class AA contenders Copiague and Sachem East. DEFEATED 67 - 41. PLAYS ST. PETERS ON SUNDAY @ HOME - GAME TIME IS 1:00PM.
3. Sachem East: Wins over North Babylon, Calhoun, and Holy Trinity and a one-point overtime loss to Hicksville shows how strong the non-league schedule has been. SACHEM EAST DEFEATED SACHEM NORTH 62 - 37.
4. Calhoun: Some very good wins so far, including North Babylon, Northport, and Copiague. PLAYS TUESDAY AGAINST HICKSVILLE.
5. North Babylon: Lost two straight without standout Eugeneia McPherson, but has played one of the toughest schedules on Long Island. Plays @ East Islip Jan. 4th - game time is scheduled for 6:15pm. DEFEATED EAST ISLIP 44 - 23.
6. Commack: The team has played four of five games against teams outside Long Island and done well. Sammy Prahalis is playing exceptionally well. DEFEATED WEST ISLIP 59 - 29 JAN 3RD.
7. Copiague: Ieasia Walker has 55 points in two games since missing three games due to illness and injury. DEFEATED CENTEREACH 71 - 49 JAN 3RD.
8. Holy Trinity: Has won four straight. Two losses are to North Babylon (overtime) and Sachem East. Big test against St. John the Baptist at St. John's Jan 4th. DEFEATED ST. JOHN THE BAPTIST 37 - 32
9. Harborfields: Defending Long Island Class A champions off to fast start. LOST TO HUNTINGTON 48 - 82 JAN 3RD. DEFEATED SAYVILLE 54 - 41.
10. Herricks: Could be a sleeper. Has won five straight to open the season. DEFEATED MAC ARTHUR 53 - 37.
