WALTHAM, Mass. - Seeking their first six-game winning streak in two years, the Bentley women's basketball team will play its first home game in a month when it hosts Le Moyne College Saturday afternoon. Tip-off at the Dana Center is at 1:30 p.m. and can be seen over Northeast-10 TV (http://www.ne10.tv/) for a fee of $6.99.
The Falcons return home with a 9-4 overall record after winning their last five games, the last two against teams that had entered the encounter with the Falcons with only one loss. Barry was 10-1 before dropping a 63-58 decision to the Falcons on Dec. 29 and Franklin Pierce had an 11-1 record prior to Tuesday's 76-70 loss to Bentley.
Senior forward and co-captain Erica Kirwan (North Kingston, R.I./North Kingston HS) has scored in double figures in each of the five wins, a stretch in which she has averaged 11.6 points and 7.4 rebounds.
Freshman guard Kim Brennan (Locust Valley, N.Y./Locust Valley HS) is the highest scoring freshman in the Northeast-10, with her average up to 10.1 per game. She's averaging 37.4 minutes, 12.8 points and 4.4 assists during the streak, and her 23 points at Franklin Pierce was the most by a Bentley guard since 2002.
Le Moyne is 7-7 overall (4-6 NE-10) after winning four of its last seven games, including a season-series sweep of American International.
Next week, the Falcons will be in action twice, playing at Saint Anselm on Wednesday before hosting Saint Rose next Saturday.
