Julia Finlay started attending basketball camp at Holy Trinity in fourth grade. She also watched plenty of Titans games when she was young because Holy Trinity was the pre-eminent CHSAA team at the time, winning the league title four times in five seasons from 1999-03.
"It made me want to go to Holy Trinity," said Finlay, a senior guard. "You could see how successful they were."
Since Holy Trinity last won the league title in 2003, St. John the Baptist has won four consecutive league championships in the highest class of the CHSAA. St. John the Baptist was the favorite coming into the season, especially after it ended the 17-year reign of Christ the King as CHSAA state champions.
