LAST WEEKS RECAP - C. Islip @ Connetquot PDF Print E-mail
Tuesday, I caught the C. Islip/Connetquot game. The score is not indicative of how close the game really was. Central Islip players seem to play harder when the game starts to get away from them. Their biggest problem is the inability to score consistently. Central Islip's best player is Chakia Booker, an eighth grader. Their record might not show it but the program is headed in the only direction it can go and that is up. Unfortunatley for the head coach, he has to overcome a losing atmosphere and a program that was left in shambles. As for Connetquot, they will return most of the roster next year. They are led by Freshmen Raychel Diver and Marissa Monaco. Connetquot needs to develop their inside players and add depth to the their bench. They need to get to the basket better and find ways to get inside players more involved. Two young guards as they mature will not be push off the ball as easily as they are now. Right now veteran and good athletic teams will give them problems. Connetquot will finish in the middle of the pack but fall short of the playoffs...
