New York, N.Y.— The City University of New York Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) has announced that John Jay women’s basketball player Dominique Grice (North Babylon, NY / North Babylon) has been named the conference Rookie of the Week for the week ending Nov. 18.
Grice made her NCAA debut this past weekend and had a tremendous pair of games as the Bloodhounds are off to a 1-1 start this season.
She netted a game-high 14 points and had a team-high six steals in John Jay’s season opening loss against Rowan Univ. in the Rose City Tip-off Tournament on Saturday. She followed that up with 24 points, nine rebounds, seven assists, and seven steals in the Bloodhounds’ 70-64 win over Newbery College in the consolation game on Sunday, en route to being named to the All Tournament Team.
So far this season the 5-5 point guard is averaging 19.0 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 6.5 steals per game as John Jay is 1-1 on the early season.
