There is one player who will definitly pass the 2000 point milestone this season and several others who if they go on scoring sprees may pass it as well.
Eugeneia McPherson of North Babylon started this season witht 1905 points followed by Megan Vasquez of Calhoun with 1646, Catherine Pastor of Hewlett with 1596 and Ieasia Walker of Copiague with 1568. Long Island High School girls basketball could see up to four players pass the 2000 mark. A tremedous feat and yet, would not set a record for a region. Back in 1992 five NY City players scored their 2000th points in the same season.
That fab five were Kendra Nelson of Paul Robeson, 2449; Juana Garcia of JF Kennedy-Bronx, 2424; Tamara Aponte of Evander, 2267; Eva Kyriakopoulos of Long Island City, 2066 and Tanya Obey of Susan Wagner, 2059.
