Balanced Attack Leads Chargers Past Concordia 100-63

Bronxville, NY - Lauren Hood paced the University of New Haven with 22 points and led four Charger players in double figures as New Haven defeated the Clippers 100-63 last night at the Meyer Athletic Center in Bronxville, NY. Hood shot 7-9 (78%) from the floor and 8-9 (89%) from the free throw line.
Sophomore Dana Rommel (Staten Island, NY) led Concordia with 9 points on 2-4 (50%) shooting. Rommel also had 3 rebounds and 2 steals. Guard Brittany Binnie (Middletown, NY) added 9 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals. Freshman Bonnie DeFina (Maspeth, NY) and junior Shari Cordero (Bronx, NY) each chipped in 8 points and 2 rebounds.
For the Chargers, Briiana Rende and Keri-Anne Jetter each scored 17 points and Dominique Stellmacher chipped in 11 points. Hood, Rende, Jetter and Stellmacher shot a combined 22-31 (71%) from the floor for the game. Jetter and Helin Marte each finished with 6 steals
As a team, New Haven shot 50.7% from the floor to the Clippers 42.2%. Concordia committed a season high 45 turnovers, 28 of which were in the opening half.
The loss drops the Clippers record to 0-4 overall and 0-1 in the East Coast Conference. The University of New Haven improves to 1-2 overall and 1-0 in the East Coast Conference.
The Clippers will conclude their 3-game home stand on Saturday, December 1st, as they host the Spartans of St. Thomas Aquinas College at the Meyer Athletic Center. Tip-off is set for 1:00 PM.
