Huntington grabbed a 14 - 6 behind the scoring of Casey Sculley (8 pts) and Meredith McCourt (4 - 4 from the free throw line). Kings Park's Jessica D'erario scored 4 points in the last 29 seconds to pull Kings Park within 3 as the 1st quarter closed . The second quarter started out with both teams trading baskets. Huntington's Caitlin Ortiz and Kerry Hicks hit back to back three to open a 7 point lead with 2:30 to go in the half. Kings Park picked up their defensive intensity holding Huntington scoreless while Jamie Ramano of King Park scored 4 points to pull Kings Park to within 3 as the half came to an end. The second half started off just like the 1st two quarters with both teams trading baskets only to see Huntington open up a 6 point lead with 2:00 minutes left. Once again, Kings Park refused to go away and scored 4 quick points to pull within 1, Hicks would hit 1 out of 2 free throws to close out the quarter. Hicks would hit the first two baskets of the 4th quarter as Huntington went up by 6 with 6:44 left in the game. Those would be Huntington's last points as Kings Park shut down Hicks and her teammates. Kings Park 's Kayla Koch would score all 9 points over the last 6 minutes while she had two key steals in the last 30 seconds to seal the victory. This game, though not the prettiest, had all the intensity of a playoff game. Kings Park: 11 - 25 - 37 - 46, Huntington: 14 - 28 - 39 -44.
